Birkenhead School commissioned Chat Noir Productions to produce a video prospectus that could be both distributed to prospective students/parents on DVD & embedded on the school’s website.
As part of the DVD the client requested a menu system that would allow a viewer to navigate to specific parts of the DVD as well as access the contact information for the school.
Solution
An animated title-screen & menu navigation system was created that took the viewer on a flight through a field of floating school shields, each with a scene reflecting school life on it, until the camera comes to rest on the School Emblem. From here the viewer can do one of three things using the onscreen menu buttons (NOT shown in the example video):
• Navigate in & out of the Chapters menu, from where the viewer can pick the part of the school they wish to watch & learn about.
• Navigate in & out of the contact details for the school.
• Simply play the DVD in its entirety from the beginning.
(NOTE: The purpose of the video example above is to show the animations between menus ONLY.
When implemented on the DVD, the navigation system between menus is controlled by buttons on the main menu screen & the viewer can navigate around them as they wish.)
