More Info
Through the use of state of the art CGI (Computer Generated Imagery), Chat Noir Productions together with our associates, can provide the accurate reconstruction of historical structures from archaeological sources & reference materials.
This in-house show reel shows some of the reconstruction work carried out on the DVD release, ‘Middleham: A Castle for Kings’.
Solution
These are not just models created from guesswork. Each single element of a reconstruction is investigated by sifting through research materials.
Obtaining the desired materials such as line drawings, etchings, paintings & written accounts, can be as easy as simply studying widely available sources such as books & illustrations, but not always. In the search for answers Chat Noir through our partners can delve into more specialist sources such as the National Archives & by approaching holders of private collections.
Where an exact portrayal of a particular element is not available, other similar structures from the same geographic area, time &/or architect are thoroughly studied.
The findings are then balanced against common agreement amongst the expert-community before being incorporated into the final design.
