Happy ‘Last’ Year!
It’s 2012 & the end of the world is nigh… apparently.
Call us cynical here at CNP if you like, but just in case Planet-X doesn’t come hurtling through the Solar system, we’re gearing up for another year of bettering what has come before. We also think it might be a prudent move if you did the same.
During these times of austerity, what we provide to our clients is great value for money. We know it & they know it – that’s why they’re willing to spend their money with us – making our last financial year not only CNPs best yet, but also our 4th year of substantial growth on the run!
The Graph below from Cisco Systems shows the acceleration of video consumption via the internet since the beginning of last year. It also shows the expected increase over this year & beyond to 2015.
Here’s the crunch. Moving away from habitual marketing strategies & embracing the newer methods of marketing, training & documenting via Video, particularly web-video, is going to be more important than ever moving forward. Here’s why:
During 2012 & the coming years video is set to ROCKET compared to other internet traffic. In 2009 (not shown on the graph), video was comparable to P2P (File sharing) traffic. Now, whilst P2P does marginally continue to grow at a greater rate than all other web & data traffic – the graph clearly shows that video is out on it’s own!
2009 is when CNP started to highlight to clients that web-video was going to become a necessity rather than a luxury in the near future. We would highlight that if they were forward-thinking enough to engage our services to produce creative video content for them, then they really ought to have versions that were encoded for web delivery as well. We could see what was coming & wanted to share that knowledge with our clients.
Well, 2012 is going to see the pattern not continue but accelerate & we’re looking forward to helping our clients realise the full potential of video content.
What’s driving this growth is smart-devices that are already on the market – such as iPhone, iPad, Android based devices, Window Phone & Blackberry. They are going to be joined by Windows 8 based tablets & mobile devices later this year. Soon access to video content & information is going to become ubiquitous!
Over 2012 whilst we continue to provide the very best in creative video solutions, we’re going to be building upon the diverse services we already offer to our clients – moving into new & exciting territories. You’re more than welcome to come along for the ride!
